Medical University in the postwar period

After the first graduation, the new set amounted to 100 people, and the figure grew every year. The region in those years was in dire need of medical personnel. By 1950, there were already 400 applicants. After the war, the duration of training began to grow. Since 1948, doctors have studied for 6 years.

For two decades, the faculty has produced more than 4 thousand doctors, among them specialists for the northern territories. Since 1959, a boarding school for the peoples of the North has been opened at the Krasnoyarsk Medical Institute for students from Evenkia and Taimyr. The diplomas of the doctor were received by representatives of different northern peoples: Evenki, Nganasans, Keto, and others.

Since 1942, the medical faculty of KrasSMU has produced more than 23 thousand specialists. Currently, it unites 16 departments, 14 of which are based in regional and city hospitals, the perinatal center, the Federal Center for Cardiovascular Surgery, the interregional ophthalmological center, maternity hospitals, and polyclinics.
